“Jelqing.” Is it the newest social media craze? Nope. What’s the latest slang that the youth are using? No way, not even a little bit.
Jelqing is the name of a penis stretching exercise that involves making micro-tears in the skin tissue in order to allegedly give your penis more length and a larger appearance. Yes, you read that right.
You’re not alone if you’re self-conscious about your penis size. It’s completely normal to wonder if you’re “big enough,” or to want some extra length and girth – in fact, a lot of guys do.
According to a 2018 survey, while most men (66 percent) rated their penis as average, 12 percent had a small penis.
Interestingly, research suggests that men are far more concerned about penis size than most women. Although 85 percent of women surveyed were satisfied with their partner’s penis size, only 55 percent of men were satisfied with their own.
Furthermore, nearly half of the men polled (45 percent) stated that they would like a larger penis.
So, what does it all mean? Several points:
Many men believe that their penis is smaller than the norm.
The majority of women are content with the size of their man’s penis.
However, more than half of men are dissatisfied with the size of their own penis.
In other words, while it’s natural to want a larger unit, it’s not always necessary for women.
Despite this disparity in male and female perceptions, there are numerous businesses that profit from our lack of penis confidence. There are numerous pills and devices designed to help you make it bigger (or claim to make it bigger), and it seems like a new drug or fad emerges every day.
Penis stretching, also known as jelqing, is one of the techniques available. And its non-invasive approach to increasing penis size (it doesn’t require surgery or even medication) has made it a popular choice.
But the big question is, does it work? Is jelqing an effective way to get a bigger penis, or is it a potentially harmful technique that could damage your penis and impair your sexual performance?
We’ve explained what jelqing is and how it claims to work as a penis enlargement technique below.
We’ve also discussed current research on the effectiveness of jelqing, as well as the safety risks associated with using a technique like jelqing for penis enlargement.
What Is the Average Penis Length?
Almost everyone wants to know if they’re “normal” in terms of how they think, how they look, and, yes, the size of their junk.
Penises, like humans, come in a variety of sizes and shapes. As a result, defining “normal” can be difficult.
A group of researchers attempted to put some numbers to it in a 2014 study published in the journal BJU International by analyzing the measurements of thousands of penises and then using the collected data to determine how large a typical penis really is.
They discovered that the average flaccid length was 9.16 cm (3.6 inches). The average length of a stretched flaccid penis was 13.24 cm (5.2 inches). The average erect penis was longer and wider, measuring 13.12 cm (5.2 inches) in length and 11.66 cm in circumference (4.6 inches).
These are averages, and if you recall anything from middle school math, you’ll recall that the actual measurements of penises in the test group were both higher and lower than the average.
So being slightly smaller or larger than the average could be considered “normal.”
Still, how you feel about your penis does not always reflect reality. Urologists frequently see male patients who are concerned about their “small” penis, despite the fact that the penis is normal in terms of length and girth.
This sensation is accompanied by a diagnosis of “small penis anxiety” or “small penis syndrome.” Experts aren’t sure why it happens to so many men, but it could be related to pre-existing anxiety disorders or popular, porn-induced misconceptions about penis size.
So, whether you fall within the normal range or not, wanting a larger package is quite normal and far from uncommon. The question is, is jelqing a safe and dependable way to obtain one?
What is Penis Stretching, also known as Jelqing?
Penis stretching is exactly what it sounds like: the use of exercises or devices to stretch and lengthen your penis. Jelqing is another name for manual stretching exercises that ostensibly add length by stretching the tissue inside your penis.
Jelqing is not a recognized medical treatment, so your doctor will not advise you to use it. However, it has gained popularity in recent decades, particularly as an online recommendation for allegedly extending your penis.
So, how exactly does one jelq? Most jelqing techniques involve stretching your penis with your fingers while it is semi-erect, usually by massaging your penis with your thumb and index finger in a “OK” hand position.
The procedure can be divided into the following steps (for reference only):
Use a compress or a warm bath to warm up your penis. This may help to increase blood flow and get your penis semi-erect.
To reduce friction, apply lubricant to your penis. Using lubricant may lower your chances of developing soreness or skin inflammation as a result of the jelqing motion.
With your thumb and index finger, make the “OK” sign, then hold the base of your penis in this position (using your thumb and index finger to encircle your penis).
Pull away from your body with your thumb and index finger wrapped around your penis until you reach the head of your penis, applying light and consistent pressure throughout the movement.
When you reach the end of your penis, return your thumb and finger to the base and repeat the movement.
Most jelqing resources advise against doing it when your penis is erect and to stop immediately if you begin to feel discomfort.
